Barbara Hine retired to this area twenty years ago and loves it here. Throughout her life she has been involved in the performing arts both professionally as a teacher and in amateur theatre.
In her own words: “I have been speaking poetry from the age of five and was always getting up and spouting to people (even though I was too shy to speak normally!). Writing poetry was a natural progression and I have been doing that from an early age.”
She has moved on from the deep and meaningful stuff to amusing narrative verse – often historical (if not hysterical) – and has organized small local entertainments including some of her own work.
