The previous post where Tom and Young Jim were ‘watching lovers underneath the pier’ reminded me of this short piece by Peter Waters set apparently on Teignmouth beach.
Kiss Me Quick
Picking my way clumsily along the coyly clinging water’s edge,
I watched, with ardent admiration,
As ahead of me your roistering, rollicking roguish rear –
Denim-clad and hem-rolled,
Invited me to follow…follow…
To hot salty chips
And foamy kisses from beery, buttery lips.
